¿Qué es Simbi en una frase? What is Simbi, in one sentence?
Es un programa que se acuerda por ti de las cosas que pones en una carpeta de tu ordenador. Le hablas y te las encuentra.
Sueltas un PDF, una foto, una nota, un correo. No tienes que ponerle nombre, ni guardarlo en ningún sitio especial. Cuando luego le preguntas "¿qué decía aquel documento que me mandó Marta?", te lo encuentra y te lo abre.
A program that remembers, on your behalf, the things you drop into a folder on your computer. You talk to it, it finds them.
You drop a PDF, a photo, a note, an email. No need to name it or save it anywhere special. Later you ask "what did that document Marta sent me say?", and it finds it and opens it.
¿En qué ordenador corre Simbi? What computer does Simbi run on?
En el tuyo. En un portátil viejo que tengas por ahí, en un mini-PC de segunda mano, o en un VPS pequeño y barato. Yo no te vendo hardware hoy: lo que ofrezco es el programa para que lo pongas tú en una máquina que ya tengas, o la ayuda para hacerlo si no sabes.
Más adelante, si veo que mucha gente prefiere comprar una caja lista para enchufar, me plantearé venderla. De momento es una posibilidad, no una promesa: prefiero no prometer hardware que no estoy fabricando.
Yours. An old laptop you have lying around, a second-hand mini-PC, or a small cheap VPS. I don't sell hardware today: what I offer is the software, to put on a machine you already have — or help setting it up if you don't know how.
Later on, if a lot of people would rather buy a turnkey box, I'll consider selling one. For now it's a possibility, not a promise: I'd rather not advertise hardware I'm not making.
¿Necesito saber de ordenadores? Do I need to know about computers?
Para usarlo, no. La idea es que si tienes un móvil, ya sabes lo necesario. Abres una aplicación, escribes lo que quieres, y Simbi te contesta. Como cuando le mandas un mensaje a alguien.
Para montarlo sí hace falta alguien que sepa de ordenadores la primera vez. Si eres familia o amigo cercano, lo monto yo. Si no, te indico cómo hacerlo o te puede ayudar cualquier técnico de confianza. Después funciona solo.
To use it, no. The idea is that if you have a phone, you already know enough. You open an app, type what you want, Simbi answers. Like sending someone a message.
For the initial setup someone who knows computers does help. If you're family or a close friend, I set it up. Otherwise I walk you through it, or any technician you trust can do it. After that it just works.

Tus archivos, tus fotos, tus notas, tus conversaciones con Simbi viven en la máquina que pongas tú en tu casa (o en tu VPS, si lo prefieres). No están en mis servidores. No están en una nube de una empresa. Están donde tú decides.
Yo no las puedo ver. Mi familia no las puede ver. Nadie de fuera las puede ver. Como un cuaderno tuyo en tu cajón.
Your files, photos, notes, your conversations with Simbi live on whatever machine you set up at home (or your VPS, if you prefer). Not on my servers. Not on some company's cloud. Wherever you decide.
I can't see them. My family can't see them. No outsider can see them. Like a notebook of yours in your drawer.
¿Y si te quedas con mis cosas? What if you keep my stuff?
No puedo. No las tengo nunca. Yo no toco tu máquina una vez está corriendo Simbi.
Lo único que pasa por algo mío es un canalillo cifrado para que tu móvil hable con tu Simbi cuando estás fuera de casa, como una tubería tapada: ve que pasa algo, no ve qué pasa. Y ese canalillo es reemplazable, otra persona podría montar uno igual (o lo puedes montar tú).
I can't. I never have it. I don't touch your machine once Simbi is running on it.
The only thing of mine in the loop is an encrypted little pipe so your phone can talk to your Simbi when you're away from home — like a sealed pipe: it sees that something is going through, not what. And that little pipe is replaceable: someone else could set up an identical one (or you could set up your own).
¿Y si me arrepiento? ¿Puedo borrarlo todo? What if I change my mind? Can I delete everything?
Sí, en cualquier momento. La carpeta es tuya. Borras la carpeta y se acabó. Apagas la máquina y se acabó. No hay nada en mi lado que tengas que pedirme que borre.
Yes, anytime. The folder is yours. You delete the folder, done. You shut the machine down, done. There's nothing on my side you need to ask me to remove.
¿Lee mis emails sin yo querer? Does it read my emails without me wanting it to?
No. Lo único que Simbi sabe es lo que tú decides ponerle delante. Si le sueltas un correo en su carpeta, lo lee. Si no, no.
No mira tu correo automáticamente, no entra en tus chats, no espía nada.
No. The only thing Simbi knows is what you choose to put in front of it. If you drop an email in its folder, it reads it. If you don't, it doesn't.
It doesn't peek at your inbox automatically, it doesn't go into your chats, it doesn't spy on anything.
¿Y si pasa algo?
What if something happens?
¿Qué pasa si Andrés desaparece o esto se cierra? What if Andrés disappears or this shuts down?
Tu Simbi sigue funcionando en tu máquina. Como cuando se cierra la marca del coche que tienes: el coche sigue siendo tuyo y sigue andando.
Las "actualizaciones nuevas" dejarían de llegar, pero lo que ya hay en tu casa seguiría haciendo lo que ya sabe hacer. Y siempre podrías llamar a otra persona técnica para que te lo siga manteniendo, porque el código es público.
Your Simbi keeps working on your machine. Like when the brand of your car closes down: the car is still yours and still drives.
"New updates" would stop coming, but what's already in your home would keep doing what it knows how to do. And you could always call another technical person to keep maintaining it, because the code is public.
¿Qué pasa si se rompe la máquina donde corre Simbi? What if the machine running Simbi breaks?
La máquina es tuya, así que la arregla quien tú quieras: cualquier técnico de tu pueblo o ciudad. No es nada raro, son ordenadores normales. Si eres familia o amigo cercano, te echo una mano.
Lo importante es que tus datos no dependan de un solo disco: te ayudo a configurar una copia de seguridad si quieres, y así si la máquina muere, recuperas tu Simbi en otra sin perder nada.
The machine is yours, so anyone you trust can fix it — any technician in your town or city. There's nothing exotic, it's a regular computer. If you're family or a close friend, I help out.
What matters is that your data doesn't depend on a single disk: I help you set up a backup if you want, so if the machine dies you bring your Simbi back up on another one without losing anything.
¿Funciona si se va la luz o el internet? What if the power or internet goes out?
Si se va la luz, la máquina se apaga, como cualquier electrodoméstico. Cuando vuelve, vuelve sola.
Si se va el internet, lo que ya tiene Simbi recordado sigue siendo tuyo y consultable. Algunas cosas avanzadas (las que necesitan "pensar mucho") sí dependen de internet por ahora; estoy trabajando para que cada vez dependan menos.
If the power goes out, the machine turns off, like any appliance. When it comes back, it comes back on its own.
If the internet goes out, what Simbi has already remembered is still yours and still searchable. Some advanced things (the ones that need "heavy thinking") do depend on the internet for now; I'm working to make them depend less and less.

¿Cuánto cuesta de verdad? How much does it really cost?
Hoy: nada. Te lo montas en una máquina que ya tengas, con tu propia clave de un proveedor de IA (Anthropic u OpenAI cobran por uso). Si eres familia o amigo cercano, te ayudo a montarlo gratis.
Más adelante: puede que ofrezca una cuota mensual opcional para quien quiera modelos potentes, soporte humano y mantenimiento remoto sin tener que ocuparse de nada. Y, si veo que mucha gente prefiere comprar una caja preparada en lugar de reciclar un ordenador, me plantearé venderla. Hoy no es así.
No hay sorpresas, no hay cobros automáticos sin avisar.
Today: nothing. You set it up on a machine you already have, with your own key from an AI provider (Anthropic or OpenAI charge by usage). If you're family or a close friend, I help you set it up for free.
Later on: I may offer an optional monthly fee for people who want top-tier models, human support, and remote maintenance without having to think about it. And if a lot of people would rather buy a ready-made box than recycle an old computer, I'll consider selling one. That's not where things are today.

¿Por qué si es tuyo te tengo que pagar a ti? Why do I have to pay you if it's mine?
El programa en sí no me lo pagas: te lo das tú a tu máquina y ya está. Sí pagas a los proveedores de inteligencia artificial por usar sus "cerebros" (Anthropic, OpenAI, los que sean), porque correr esos modelos cuesta dinero a quien los hace. Eso lo cobran ellos, no yo.
Si en algún momento monto un servicio gestionado opcional (modelos potentes, soporte humano, mantenimiento remoto) tendrá una cuota. Será opcional, y si no la pagas, sigues teniendo Simbi en tu máquina, funcionando.
The software itself isn't something you pay me for: you install it on your machine and that's it. You do pay AI providers for using their "brains" (Anthropic, OpenAI, whichever), because running those models costs money for whoever makes them. They charge you, not me.
If at some point I run an optional managed service (top-tier models, human support, remote maintenance), it'll have a fee. It'll be optional, and if you don't pay it, you still have Simbi running on your machine.

¿Mis hijos pueden ver lo mío y al revés? Can my kids see my stuff and the other way around?
Cada persona tiene su cuenta separada dentro de Simbi. Lo tuyo es tuyo, lo de tu hijo o tu hija es suyo. No se mezclan.
En el futuro habrá una "carpeta compartida" para cosas familiares (recetas de la abuela, fotos del verano, calendarios), pero solo lo que tú metas a propósito ahí. Lo demás, privado.
Each person has their own separate account inside Simbi. Yours is yours, your son's or daughter's is theirs. They don't mix.
In the future there will be a "shared folder" for family things (grandma's recipes, summer photos, calendars), but only what you put there on purpose. Everything else, private.
¿Cuántas Simbis necesito en casa? How many Simbis do I need at home?
Una por persona, idealmente. Pero solo necesitas una máquina: dentro caben varias Simbis, una por miembro de la familia, sin que se vean entre ellas.
Para una familia normal con un solo ordenador en casa suele bastar.
One per person, ideally. But you only need one machine: it can hold several Simbis inside, one per family member, without them seeing each other.
For a regular family one home computer is usually enough.
